Lately, I’ve been starting my day by writing down five things I’m grateful for, followed by a short statement that will guide me throughout the day. I thought it would be fun to share some of my recent entries, so here they are!
3/26/25:
What I am grateful for:
- That it will soon be springtime
- Morgan Wallen finally coming out with a new album in May
- That I can afford eggs
- I get to go hiking today
- I get to sleep in my own bed
Today I will listen to my body.
3/27/25:
What I am grateful for:
- Having friends I can be honest with
- Daisy being able to hike mountains
- Pasta salad and banana pudding ice cream pops
- Fresh sourdough bread
- The snow melting
Today I will be honest with myself.
3/28/25:
What I am grateful for:
- Being able to tour Stonewall Kitchen
- Being able to cook yummy potato soup
- The weather becoming warmer
- The pink hue from light streaming through my curtains
- That I have a wedding date
Today I will embrace a six-hour drive.
These are my three most recent entries. Surprisingly, I’ve actually been writing them in a real journal and not in the huge Word document I’ve had for years. I love having a digital journal because I always have my laptop handy, but it’s good to put pen to paper sometimes (plus it gets me off a screen). Anyway, writing something I’m grateful for every morning, even though many of them are simple, starts my day off on a positive note. Lately, staying positive is something I desperately need.
