A Daily Dose of Gratitude

Lately, I’ve been starting my day by writing down five things I’m grateful for, followed by a short statement that will guide me throughout the day. I thought it would be fun to share some of my recent entries, so here they are!

3/26/25:
What I am grateful for:

  1. That it will soon be springtime
  2. Morgan Wallen finally coming out with a new album in May
  3. That I can afford eggs
  4. I get to go hiking today
  5. I get to sleep in my own bed

Today I will listen to my body.

3/27/25:
What I am grateful for:

  1. Having friends I can be honest with
  2. Daisy being able to hike mountains
  3. Pasta salad and banana pudding ice cream pops
  4. Fresh sourdough bread
  5. The snow melting

Today I will be honest with myself.

3/28/25:
What I am grateful for:

  1. Being able to tour Stonewall Kitchen
  2. Being able to cook yummy potato soup
  3. The weather becoming warmer
  4. The pink hue from light streaming through my curtains
  5. That I have a wedding date

Today I will embrace a six-hour drive.

These are my three most recent entries. Surprisingly, I’ve actually been writing them in a real journal and not in the huge Word document I’ve had for years. I love having a digital journal because I always have my laptop handy, but it’s good to put pen to paper sometimes (plus it gets me off a screen). Anyway, writing something I’m grateful for every morning, even though many of them are simple, starts my day off on a positive note. Lately, staying positive is something I desperately need.
