To be perfectly honest, I forgot I had a blog post to write, so I’m frantically putting this together this morning while scarfing down breakfast. If anyone’s wondering what I’m having… I’m eating garlic pâté with scrambled eggs covered in melted cheese, doused in ketchup and Tabasco, with half a blueberry muffin toasted with butter, and half of another pastry I got in Canada, as well as an iced coffee.
Anyway, while you’re here, let’s do some life updates. It’s been one busy week in the Kawata household! I got back from Canada two days ago, and my trip was amazing. I went with a friend of mine, and it was the first trip he’d ever been on! I think his favorite part was ice skating through the forest. This is where he got to push me in a chair because I am not a professional ice skater. Funnily enough, my first fall was because he pushed me into the snow, and I flipped over. It was painful to say the least. I also saw three whole polar bears at the aquarium, and that was the highlight of my trip! Other than that, we just did some touristy things and ate way too much food!
Next, an update on my date… It was at a cute little breakfast place, and the place was quiet and smelt like maple syrup. It kind of reminded me of Waffle House, which I’ve been desperately missing since I moved up north. He was sweet, and the date went well. I’m seeing him again this week for Mexican food, and maybe I can convince him to play chess with me afterward. The good news is that I’m seeing him again and not ghosting, which is always a good sign!
Last update, and the saddest one of them all… I decided yesterday that I won’t be running the marathon I wanted to in May, which makes me extremely upset, but my ankle still hasn’t healed from the last race. With that being said, I went to the doctor, and they told me to stay off my ankle as much as possible for another month. I was supposed to start training tomorrow, so it’s safe to say I will not be. I’ll have to wait to run the marathon next year.
Even though I’m upset, I’m trying to look at the bright side, so here are three things that make me feel a little better:
1. I have more time to figure out my training and proper fueling for my race.
2. I get to train my legs to be even stronger in the gym.
3. I’m able to enjoy my indoor hobbies a little longer.
That’s all I’ve got for you today! Enjoy this photo from Jacques-Cartier National Park! See you on Friday!
