it’s a frosty night in maine
2am & 19 degrees
the only warmth i feel is the breath that surpasses my lips
i can see you in the distance
my skin ruffles as i stride towards you
the gap between us begins to close
i’m beneath you now &
above me you shine
with the quietness of the light
the subtle glow you bring to my cheeks
same paleness we both beam
i watch you lean with the wind
my feet planted firmly to the gravel ground
on a street with no name
can you see me too?
my nose begins to drip &
snowflakes start pouring down my eyes
how did i get here?
i’m frozen in your gleam.
